Count Your Blessings Monday
Today’s blessing is my friend Robyn! It is her birthday, so I think it is very appropriate to honor her today
I have known Robyn for around 16 years now. My dh boarded with her and her family the year before we were married. When we were married she was always dropping around with encouragement in the form of food, articles or books to read, goodies she’d found at the second hand shop and lots of smiles and uplifting conversation. She was my first Proverbs 31 woman, other than my mother and other family members.
I remember her telling me not to stress about my floors when we were about to have company - she said to sweep after they left because it would be dirtier then! She taught me that there were always ways to stretch a meal for an unexpected guest. Her hospitality to many was a great encouragement and example to me.
When our children came along they were invited to call her and her husband Nanna and Pop
Tonight we celebrated her birthday together, along with two of her children, one daughter-in-law and two grandsons. Her other son rang from England to wish her a Happy Birthday and say a quick hi to the rest of the family. We had a lovely meal together and I thought what blessings have come from a woman willing to open her home and heart to others in need.

She sounds like a real blessing to you. It says a lot to be called a Proverbs 31 Woman!
Thanks for your comment about the napkins. Yes, sewing right sides together, turn and topstitch is all there is to it! I zig zaged the edge of a couple, but ended up just doing a straight stitch around the edge of the others. I’m going to made Christmas ones soon and some for my daughter and maybe Christmas gifts. I made them 13 inch square. We used them this weekend and enjoyed them.

What a blessing that is. We all need people like that in our lives and we also need to be that person to someone else. Thanks for taking part.
